There's an animal that lives on the ocean floor that looks kind of like a cucumber and doesn't really move around, so people call it a sea cucumber.

Fishers sometimes bring them up in nets. Or in crab pots. Or back home, there were merfolk and sea elves and other people who lived down there.

At least back home. The seas, the surface, underground... at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if people lived on the moon back home.

Magic, probably. Or Selune -- that's the moon goddess back home -- wanted company. Or both.

Selune's temple in Waterdeep has moon plants, but I'd need a good reason to get to see them. They're delicate, and Selune is not my patron god.

[Because this is what jumps out as 'a thing Ilphyl would notice' when I skim the Forgotten Realms wiki; that the the chief temple to Selune in the city Ilphyl is based out of has a greenhouse full of plants from the moon.]

Given the stuff here, magic makes as much sense as anythin'. Though Ah'd love to see somethin' that counts as 'moon plants'.

A lot. There's a bunch of ones most people follow, but elves and dwarves and gnomes and halflings and others all brought their gods with them, so people follow those as well.

Ah can't imagine a bunch o'em. It was weird enough with one that split into two an' after she got defeated we have no idea who's in charge...

[Because that's not confusing enough for her and certainly isn't to just say out loud like that to someone who wasn't there...]

Does one have to be in charge? I don't think we have a god in charge.

[They do, but it's not common knowledge]

The first elves were born in the Feywild. That's a different plane than the one I'm from. So that's why there's an elven god of the moon who isn't THE god of the moon.

Well, it's weird goin' from hearin' Ashera's watchin' over stuff to...uh...she's not, an' we ain't sure if anyone is now. Sure isn't Yune...Ah think.

[Maybe someone knows, but it isn't her. Theology isn't her strong point. And she's admittedly not making much sense, probably, all things considered, but she doesn't think about that, because that requires a level of self-awareness she doesn't possess at the moment.]

Reckon different groups havin' different gods makes sense... [In theory. She thinks.] Plane...so it's like a different world from yours?

Yeah, but... you can have planes that are pretty much like this world, or our homeworlds, but you can also have planes, which are... kind of linked to an idea of something. Like the Elemental Plane of Water is... well, full of water. Land and air aren't really things there, and it has people who just went there and now they, or their kids, just live there now, but also elementals. Basically magic water spirits?

[not to mention the Outer Planes which you can go to with enough magic, but is also where souls end up after death]
